MyZone was founded by an entrepreneur with a bold vision to rethink the way children learn.

Eitan, the founder, believed that education had remained largely unchanged for decades and wanted to create a new kind of learning experience – one that helps children discover their personal “zone”: the unique meeting point between what they love and what they are naturally good at.

The methodology was based on a simple but powerful idea: expose children to as many fields of knowledge as possible, even through light “tasting” experiences, in order to spark their natural curiosity and help them discover new interests, strengths, and possibilities.

Project Goal

To translate an ambitious educational vision into a digital learning product that feels different from traditional education.

Our role was to take the founder’s methodology and turn it into an engaging app experience – quickly, and within the constraints of a startup budget.

We designed an app that helps children find their ZONE through exposure to a wide variety of content worlds and knowledge fields. Instead of passive learning in front of a teacher, the experience became an interactive adventure where there are no failures – only discoveries.

The Challenges

Pedagogy, Playfulness & Screen Time

The challenge was to create meaningful learning that feels like play.

The experience needed to preserve strong pedagogical value in the background, with rich and accurate content, while still feeling light, playful, and engaging for children. At the same time, we had to balance the desire to create a “sticky” product with the need to avoid encouraging excessive screen time – in a positive and responsible way, rather than through restrictive mechanisms.

Designing for Children, Not “Small Adults”

The product was designed for children aged 9-10, who cannot simply be treated as “small users.”

The challenge was to create a visual language, interaction model, and learning journey tailored to their age, attention span, expectations, and high digital standards. The experience needed to provide clear orientation, spark curiosity, and create a reason to return every day.

Content Overload & Discovery Clarity

The product exposed children to a wide range of knowledge fields, content worlds, and learning opportunities.

The challenge was to prevent this richness from becoming overwhelming. We needed to organize the content in a way that feels clear, inviting, and easy to explore – helping children understand where they are, what they can discover next, and how each activity brings them closer to finding their personal ZONE.

Fast, Focused Startup Execution

We moved quickly and made sharp decisions through a focused Design Sprint.

Together with the team, we refined the product’s KPIs and key success factors, clarified the main flows and core experience principles, and moved rapidly from vision to concrete product decisions – in the pace and mindset of a startup.

Proven Principles, Made Playful

We did not try to reinvent learning from scratch. Instead, we translated academic research and UX principles for children into a digital experience that felt natural, playful, and engaging.

The solution combined a familiar chat-based interface, rich visual language, smart gamification, progress on a map, a unique theme for each knowledge world, and a friendly penguin sidekick that guides, encourages, and supports the child throughout the journey.

We designed a journey that speaks to children at eye level while encouraging healthy screen-time habits: one meaningful experience per day, progress celebration, and positive anticipation for tomorrow.
