BITSIGHT (formerly Cyber Sixgill) was a small startup with no in-house UX/UI person. Their CPO invited us to run a Design Sprint. Right after it, he asked us to come work with the product team on a part-time basis.
For a full year we served as the company’s UX/UI arm. Our scope ranged from 25% of a role to nearly full-time toward the end. Over that year, we worked with the various product managers on definitions and designs for both existing and new modules, and even on adapting the product to a new persona type. Along the way, we also upgraded their look & feel and established a high-quality Design System in Figma.
At the end of the year, the CPO hired a full-time in-house UX/UI person. We handed over the baton gradually and methodically. It was a highly efficient, successful process – for them and for us.
